Mechanical Behaviour of Anchored Rock Containing Weak Interlayer under Uniaxial Compression: Laboratory Test and Coupled DEM–FEM Simulation

نویسندگان

چکیده

The reason for instability in a rock mass with weak interlayer is not only the sliding failure of structural plane but also tip crack propagation caused by stress concentration at interlayer. In this study, uniaxial compression test an anchored was carried out to determine influence anchorage on pattern and strength samples different dip angles. addition, coupled DEM–FEM numerical simulation method used study internal evolution sample distribution anchor under effect. results showed that effect reinforcement enhancement greatest angle 30°. Under effect, initiation limited there more shear samples. range anchors restrained ends larger than free ends. When rock–anchor interface unbonded, free-ends reflected residual friction, restrained-ends still worked limiting lateral expansion rocks. values deformation decreased gradually increase angle.

Effect of Native Fissures on the Mechanical Behaviour of Rock under Uniaxial Compression

Original scientific paper Rock generally contains various micro-cracks, fissures, pores, joints, and other defects. These defects affect the mechanical properties of rock. In order to clarify the influence of native fissures on rock deformation and failure modes, a laboratory study was carried out using the fissured dolomite, and acoustic wave velocity measurement and natural water absorption t...

Determination of Damage Constitutive Behavior for Rock Salt Under Uniaxial Compression Condition with Acoustic Emission

The mechanical characteristics of rock salt have an important influence on the safety of the salt cavity. The acoustic emission (AE) technique was used to analyze the generation of microcracks in rock salt under uniaxial compression condition. By monitoring acoustic emission in whole process of stress strain curve under uniaxial compression test, the damage characteristic of rock salt is obtain...

Buckling of Ge nanowires under uniaxial compression

Molecular dynamics simulations are performed to investigate the buckling properties of [100]-, [110]-, [111]-, and [112]-oriented single-crystalline germanium nanowires under uniaxial compression. The effects of simulation temperature, strain rate, and wire length on the buckling behaviour are investigated. The simulation results indicate that critical load clearly decreases with increasing tem...

Mechanical Behaviour and Electrical Conductivity of Oxygen Separation Membrane under Uniaxial Compressive Loading

The mechanical deformation and the electrical conductivity of lanthanum strontium cobalt ferrite oxide under uniaxial compression were investigated at various temperatures up to 1073 K. The material reveals a rather complex mechanical behaviour related to its ferroelasticity and completely different stress-strain curves are obtained during the 1st and 2nd loading cycles. A distinctive ferroelas...
